Individual health insurance in South Florida

A household plan has to work for more than one person. Bring the doctors, the prescriptions, and who already has coverage. The office that has this conversation is in Sunrise.

What to bring to the conversation

  • Who needs coverage, and who already has a plan that should stay in place.
  • The doctors, clinics, and hospitals you want to keep.
  • The prescriptions you refill. The drug list matters more than the brochure.
  • Whether you are inside open enrollment or you had a life change.

Life changes HealthCare.gov names

Marriage, a baby, an adoption, or a placement for foster care can open a Special Enrollment Period, with timing that depends on the event. Divorce or legal separation qualifies when it causes a loss of coverage, not by itself. Read the official page, then use losing employer coverage if the change is a job plan ending. Aging off a parent’s plan at 26 is its own case on that same HealthCare.gov page.

Marketplace and private plans

The firm says it can discuss Marketplace plans and private plans outside the Marketplace where they are available. Those are different products. Marketplace plans have published enrollment windows and published rules on pre-existing conditions. A private plan can ask health questions and can decline or limit coverage. Ask which kind of contract you are looking at before you compare a premium.

Income-based savings, when they exist, are decided from household size, income, and the rules for that coverage year. This site will not estimate them.
